Each month, I gather helpful and interesting tidbits relating to food, wine, kitchen tools or tips, articles or books, and music that help shape my culinary lifestyle. Use them as guides and inspiration. And, feel free to share some of your own.

FOOD
I love finding helpful, low-processed products at the grocery store! I even have a name for them, “Grocery Store Helpers”. This month I am sharing a line of Indian sauces that are tasty, made with quality ingredients, and come in pretty handy - Maya Kaimal Simmer Sauces.
Keep one or two in the pantry for those busy nights when dinner feels impossible to make. Pair them with any type of protein and vegetables for a quick and delicious meal.
WINE
The call for low-alcohol wines and cocktails (and mocktails) is on the rise and shows no sign of slowing down, according to food trend analysts. I find myself trying more mocktails, and low-alcohol beverages and quite enjoying them.
For those times when I am looking for a wine that is light, crisp, and full of fruit, I really enjoy a glass of Portuguese Vinho Verde. It’s slightly effervescent which I find to be very fun and inviting any time of year.
Check your local wine shop to see what is available in your area. One that I particularly enjoy is Seaside Cellars Vinho Verde. Others that are commonly available include - Broadbent, Casal Garcia, and Alianca.
Cheers!
HELPFUL KITCHEN TOOL
One of the most used tools in my kitchen is my Immersion Blender. I use it almost daily to blend my morning smoothie, puree soups, whip up some type of cream, chop nuts, and more. It is a compact, yet powerful tool that is worth having.
Need help choosing one? Check out this test and review conducted by America’s Test Kitchen - The Best Immersion Blenders (May 2022). Pssst… I have their top pick and highly recommend it!

Something to lift the spirit and set the tone for a bit of fun in the kitchen. Take a listen, and maybe add this to your cooking playlist - Chan Chan by the Buena Vista Social Club.
